Soaps & Sunrises

Here’s another quick update of what’s been happening here in the North! Enjoy the pictures, as they seem to tell the story of what is happening around here best:)

Snow shoe making has been fun:

Shaping my first set, and then hanging to dry for 1 week.

After the shoes are shaped and dried I took them apart and shaved the bark off.

All of the fine filling(tanned deer hide cut in thin strips) pulled between the poles to stretch and dry.

Making Soap is one of our hobbies, albeit one that we haven’t got around to doing very often. We experimented this time with some new recipes. This is our Green Tea Lemongrass soap.

We have been toying with label ideas as well, just to make it look official:)

  1. WOW! WOW! WOW! Thanks so much for sharing the joys of your lives! It’s so great to see ALL of you!!! The snowshoes look great! Can’t wait to see the finished product – and what a skill to have! You’ve done an amazing job of the room in the church. It’s looking great! I could have never imagined that. And the soap – that is IMPRESSIVE!!! I love your bar soap labels. One ingredient you forgot to list is “Love”, which I am sure there is plenty in there. You may even want to list that as your first ingredient! 🙂 …and I love your name “saintly soaps”. Can’t get much better than that!

Denise – I love your birthday picture! Your beauty radiates! A beautiful Wife, Mother and daughter of God! 🙂

    Thanks again!!!

WE LOVE YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH – and we are praying for a safe journey to Whitehorse and back!

    Love and blessings to all,

    Mom (& Dad)
